Wellesley, Massachusetts Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Lawyers

Located in Norfolk County, Wellesley is home to about 27,000 residents. Wellesley is well known for its excellent public school system and as home to Wellesley College.

Before becoming independent in 1881, Wellesley was part of Dedham, Needham and West Needham. Today, the town borders Newton, Needham, Dover, Natick and Weston. Wellesley College is a women’s liberal arts college founded in 1875, serving about 2,300 students. Babson College and Massachusetts Bay Community College are also based in Wellesley.

In addition to the colleges, Lake Waban and downtown Wellesley are popular spots. Wellesley Town Hall is a distinctive Romanesque stone building which stands prominently at 525 Washington Street. Construction on Wellesley Town Hall began in 1881, the same year the town was founded, and was completed in 1886. The area is called Hunnewell Park.

Wellesley has two MBTA commuter rail stations providing train service to Boston, one at Wellesley Farms and one at Wellesley Square.

Drivers can access Interstate 95 on the eastern end of town. Route 9 travels throughout the community. Westbound takes you to Natick, while Newton is southbound. Traffic congestion is heavy in this area, especially during commuter hours. Drivers who are speeding, changing lanes without checking or texting can seriously injure others.

Within Wellesley town lines, Route 135 and Route 16 are busy backroads which will lead you to Wellesley College or the Wellesley Country Club.

Two courts have jurisdiction over Wellesley.  The Norfolk Superior Court, located in Dedham at 650 High Street, hears claims likely to recover damages in excess of $25,000.  For claims under $25,000, Wellesley residents go to the Dedham District Court at 631 High Street.
