The Massachusetts Department of Transportation and the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission have closely studied the intersection of Route 114 and Andover Street in recent years. In a 2011 road safety audit, the planning commission noted the intersection continues to have one of the highest frequencies of crashes in the region.
