Marc L. Breakstone is a principal of the firm and concentrates in medical malpractice and complex personal injury litigation almost exclusively for plaintiffs.  Marc has established a solid reputation for obtaining consistently superb results for his clients, including a number of record recoveries.  In 2001, he obtained over $10 million for the family of a previously healthy 10-month old child who was profoundly brain damaged by ambulance negligence.  In 2002, Marc and his partner David White obtained a $7.5 million recovery for the family of another brain damaged baby, which recovery remains the largest medical malpractice settlement in Massachusetts history.  In 2002, Marc was selected by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly as one of the “Lawyers of the Year.”  Several of these stories have been featured on the front page of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and can be viewed at the attached link..   

In 2006, Marc was selected as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers” in the state in the Massachusetts Super Lawyers balloting.   In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Marc was selected as one of the top Medical Malpractice lawyers in Massachusetts.

Marc has served as guest host on “Looking at the Law” on WBZ radio. He appeared regularly as a guest and legal commentator on the David Brudnoy radio program on WBZ radio, and has been featured on the The Abrams Report, The O’Reilly Factor, The Connie Chung Show, WB56 and the New England Cable News.  He is a frequent lecturer on trial skills and substantive law topics for the MBA, MCLE and MATA.  He and David White have co-chaired the Massachusetts Bar Association “Starting Your Own Firm” program for the past 10 years, and he had chaired the MCLE “Introducing Evidence at Trial” seminar for the past seven years.

Marc is a graduate of the University of Michigan (B.A. 1981) and Northeastern University School of Law (J.D. 1986).  He  is a member of the Board of Governors of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Massachusetts Bar Association.  Marc has attained the highest rating established by Martindale Hubbell’s law directory.  This rating is given only to lawyers in law firms which are considered to have very high to preeminent legal ability and who are thought to embrace the highest professional standards.  You can read about this distinguished rating at the attached link.
